In fall 2002, Prof. Sergei A. Chizhik was invited to A.V.Luikov Heat and Mass Transfer Institute by Prof. Sergei A. Zhdanok to establish and be head of a new lab: Laboratory of Nanoprocesses and Nanotechnology. The lab was based on just several researchers with experience in development of scanning probe microscopy devices, surface studies at micro- and nanoscale, physics of contact interactions. Today the laboratory is an active team that comprising both experienced experimentalists and theoreticians in areas of micro- and nanomechanics as well as junior researches.
